As of March 10, 2015, the Sierra Institute is thrilled to announce that the California Energy Commission (CEC) has furthered our Plumas County biomass boiler project with a 2.6 million dollar grant. These funds will support the creation of a sustainably sourced woody biomass boiler that will heat both the dormitories at Feather River College and the Plumas County Health and Human Services Building. This project is an element of the Sierra Institute’s Plumas Energy Efficiency and Renewables Management Action Plan (pdf, 538 KB). Read more about the Sierra Institute’s work in woody renewables.
